Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Everyday Cookings customer ordering app (Android/iOS) and the hotelevc.in website, operated by Everyday Cookings for a single restaurant location. It does not cover the separate Owner, Captain, Delivery, or TV apps used internally by staff.

1. Who we are

Everyday Cookings ("we", "us", "our") provides food ordering and delivery for one restaurant through this app and website. This document explains what information we collect when you use them, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.

2. Information we collect

3. Permissions the app requests

Location — used only when you open the delivery-address map picker, to set or confirm a delivery pin. Not collected in the background.
Microphone / speech recognition — used only when you tap the voice-search control.
Notifications — used to send you order status updates. You can disable these in your device settings at any time.

4. Third parties we rely on

We use a small number of service providers to operate the app. We do not sell your data to anyone.

Our backend (Render) — hosts the API that stores your account, orders, and addresses.
Google Maps & Geocoding — powers the delivery-location map picker and turns a map pin into a readable address. Only the location you place on the map is sent to Google for this purpose.
Push notification delivery (Firebase Cloud Messaging, Android) — delivers order-status notifications to your device.

5. How your data is stored and protected

Your sign-in session is stored securely on your device (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain via secure on-device storage), not in plain text. Data in transit between the app and our backend is encrypted (HTTPS). Delivery partners see only the details needed to complete a specific delivery: your name, delivery address, and contact number for that order.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and order history for as long as your account is active, so you can view past orders and re-order favorites. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain records (e.g. for tax or accounting purposes).

7. Your choices

Review or update your name, phone number, and saved addresses any time from your Profile page.
Turn off notifications from your device's system settings.
Deny or revoke location/microphone permission at any time — the app will simply ask again the next time you use a feature that needs it.
Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us (below).

8. Children's privacy

The app is intended for general audiences placing food orders and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
